Student employment, travel and studies have been disrupted by the global pandemic. Our students need your help to get through these uncertain times.
Our student body is our greatest strength and equality of opportunity is at the forefront of what we do. In these times of great uncertainty SOAS has moved all classes and wellbeing support online and staff members are taking proactive steps to assist our students. You can help them continue their studies by offering a financial safety net.
Some students had to pay large amounts of money to buy flights to return home in a hurry, particularly those whose countries recalled them. Others are unable to support themselves, having to self isolate or due to their place of employment shutting down. The closure of the School buildings has resulted in the loss of study space and equipment that our students rely on; some students have had to buy computers.
SOAS offers Hardship Bursaries, especially for students from low income families, those in care, carers, those with disabilities, or displaced people. This scheme is now under huge pressure with great numbers of additional students needing support due to the effects of COVID-19.
Our Senior Management Team and members of the Executive Board are in the process of purchasing 50 laptops for students who need it the most. The School will ensure that these are delivered as soon as possible.
Every donation, no matter the value, matters. Please support our students struggling with financial difficulties and make a difference in their lives. Our US based donors can also make a tax efficient donation.
We hope you and your loved ones are well in these difficult times and we thank you for your support. To discuss any aspects of your donation, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
